  2. l’importance de voir l’obésité comme un problème médical chronique et de la traiter en conséquence afin d’améliorer la santé des patients;
  3. le rôle du cerveau dans la régulation du comportement, de la faim et des envies irrépressibles de manger, ainsi que des répercussions de ces dernières sur l’issue de la prise en charge de l’obésité;
  4. les lignes directrices de pratique clinique canadiennes régissant actuellement la prise en charge de l’obésité, y compris le rôle des interventions non pharmacologiques (comportementales) et pharmacologiques;
  5. les nouveaux traitements pharmacologiques qui sont vendus depuis peu sur le marché canadien pour la prise en charge de l’obésité;
  6. les résultats que l’on peut réalistement escompter des traitements pharmacologiques utilisés dans la prise en charge de l’obésité;
  7. la façon d’amener les patients à se prendre en main à l’aide de stratégies reposant sur la correction du comportement, notamment la méthode des 5 A de la prise en charge de l’obésité.
