Is it the laxative that works the fastest, the laxative that’s the most gentle, or the one that’s the most convenient to use? Understanding the unique properties and place in therapy of the basic groups of laxatives can help simplify your choice and really answer the question, “what’s the best laxative for the patient in front of me?”.
