The treatment of OA is currently limited to control of symptoms and maintenance of quality of life and functional independence. Prevention or delay of progression of OA is an important area of research. As OA is commonly associated with aging, patients often have comorbidities, which must be considered, together with concurrent medication use, when selecting a treatment option for OA.
