How to Choose an Antidepressant for Major Depressive Disorder
The goal in treating major depressive disorder (MDD) is to move patients from symptomatic to full functional recovery, which means that the signs and symptoms of depression are absent or almost so, and the patient is restored to pre-depression day-to-day functioning in work, family and social settings.
This one-hour eCME is directed to the primary care practitioner and review treatment goals and medication options as recommended by the 2016 CANMAT guidelines. As well, very recent evidence is presented that may guide selection of antidepressant treatment choices. Case studies interwoven through the program will address improving overall patient functioning and work productivity.
