Learning objectives
On completion of the learning module, participants will be better able to:
- describe key clinical features of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (pNET) including epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation and diagnosis
- increase awareness of this rare tumour that is often undiagnosed or misdiagnosed due to non-specific symptoms
- outline the range of treatment options and treatment algorithms that exist for pancreatic NET
- define approaches to therapy optimisation in order to effectively manage pNET, including patient assessment and appropriateness of treatment decisions
- individualise patient management so as to enhance both patient survival and quality of life, and monitor adverse effects of therapy in order to prioritise patient safety
