- Discuss the importance of spirometry in COPD assessment
- Interpret the clinical relevance of a patient’s spirometry results
- Review the guideline recommended treatment of patients with mild COPD
Module 2:
- Discuss the frequency of medication administration errors with inhalation devices
- Review the key features of each of the common inhalation devices used in patients with COPD
- Counsel a patient on the different options for each class of COPD inhaled medication
- Customize the device based on the needs of the patient
Module 3:
- Review the impact of exacerbations on COPD progression
- Discuss the management of acute exacerbations of COPD
- Adjust a patient’s COPD regimen in response to exacerbations
Module 4:
- Review the GOLD/CTS guideline recommendations for dual bronchodilation
- Explore the role of dual bronchodilation in the management of COPD
- Discuss the evidence for removing inhaled corticosteroid in patients with stable COPD
