Learning objectives
After successful completion of the program, the participant will be better able to:
- Recognize the importance of addressing tobacco use at every patient encounter, including patient with comorbid chronic conditions.
- Apply the 3A’s (Ask, Advise, Act) brief tobacco intervention algorithm.
- Recall the rationale and evidence for using combination nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in smoking cessation.
- Discuss how “Reduce to Quit” with NRT can help patients quit smoking.
- Determine appropriate NRT dosing and product selection tailored to individual patient needs.
